How to bed in new e-bike disc brake pads

1. Choose a safe location

Use a flat, dry, traffic-free paved area with plenty of stopping distance. Avoid loose gravel, steep hills, wet pavement, pedestrians, and parked cars. Wear a helmet and begin at a modest speed you can control comfortably.

2. Make repeated controlled slowdowns

Accelerate to a moderate speed, then apply one brake smoothly and firmly enough to slow to walking pace. Release the brake before the wheel stops completely. Repeat roughly 10 times, allowing the bike to roll between applications. The goal is progressive heat and an even transfer layer—not a skid.
